Medit Scanner Not Connecting – Troubleshooting Checklist

Use the steps below when a Medit scanner is not connecting to the computer or Medit Link.

1. Update the NVIDIA Graphics Card Driver

  1. Open the NVIDIA App on the computer.

  2. Go to Drivers.

  3. Check for available driver updates.

  4. Click Download.

  5. Once downloaded, click Install.

  6. Restart the computer after the installation is complete.

  7. Reopen Medit Link and test the scanner connection again.

2. Run Windows Updates

  1. Click the Start Menu.

  2. Open Settings.

  3. Go to Windows Update.

  4. Click Check for updates.

  5. Install all available updates.

  6. Restart the computer, even if Windows does not require it.

  7. After restarting, open Medit Link and test the scanner again.

3. Check Scanner Cable Connections

  1. Disconnect the scanner cable from the computer.

  2. Disconnect and reconnect all scanner cable connections.

  3. Make sure the cable is fully seated and secure.

  4. Plug the scanner directly into the computer, not through a hub or adapter if possible.

  5. Test the scanner again in Medit Link.

4. Restart Medit Link

  1. Completely close Medit Link.

  2. Open Task Manager.

  3. End any remaining Medit-related processes.

  4. Reopen Medit Link.

  5. Log in and test the scanner connection.

5. Restart the Computer

  1. Fully restart the computer.

  2. Do not just close the laptop lid or put the computer to sleep.

  3. Once restarted, open Medit Link and test the scanner.

6. Confirm the Scanner Is Detected

  1. Open Medit Link.

  2. Go to the scanner connection area.

  3. Confirm whether the scanner appears as connected, disconnected, or unavailable.

  4. If the scanner is still not detected, try another compatible USB port.

7. Final Step

If the scanner still does not connect after completing the above steps, escalate to support with the following information:

  • Scanner model

  • Computer model

  • Windows version

  • Medit Link version

  • Screenshot of the connection error

  • Whether NVIDIA and Windows updates were completed
